What’s New on Netflix: July 2021

Summer has arrived, and the hottest season of the year heats up on Netflix lands in July: for the first time in its nearly 25-year history, the streaming service will release new episodes of a series of films one after another on a weekly basis.

The rare move marks a break with the company’s long tradition of cutting an entire movie franchise or seasons of shows into one massive rollout, all at the same time.

So get excited, as the big moment kicks off on Friday with Netflix’s original debut first film “Fear Street Part 1: 1994”, the first installment in a teenage horror trilogy. The rollout continues on July 9 with “Fear Street Part 2: 1978”, followed by “Fear Street Part 3: 1666” on July 16.

In July, Netflix will also present other highly anticipated original films, including the sci-fi film “Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans”, the romantic comedy “Resort to Love”, the adventure thriller “Gunpowder Milkshake”, the action-packed film “The Last Mercenary” and the horror thriller “A Classic Horror Story”.

Meanwhile, young adult series “Never Have I Ever” and “Outerbanks” return for Season 2. Other notable Netflix original shows are heading to the streaming platform this month include new seasons. of “Young Royals”, “Cat People”, “Virgin River” and “Sky Rojo” and the final season of “Atypical”.

Netflix is ​​also adding a number of animated and animated originals such as “Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness”, “Masters of the Universe: Revelation” and the rebirth of “Johnny Test”.
