Time, live stream for GOP event

Former President Donald Trump will be in Las Vegas on Friday to help campaign for two Republican candidates, Joe Lombardo and Adam Laxalt.

The July 8 event, hosted by the Trump Save America Political Action Committee (PAC), will take place at the Treasure Island Hotel and Casino. Lombardo and Laxalt are due to hold a roundtable at 5 p.m., while Trump is due to deliver a speech at 6 p.m.

During the speech, Trump “will deliver remarks on the Americas First agenda,” according to the PAC announcement. In addition to Trump, Lombardo and Laxalt, “additional special guests” will appear.

It was not immediately clear whether members of the public will be able to attend in person, but the Right Side Broadcasting Network will stream the event live on YouTube. Tickets available for purchase were not available on Trump’s official website Thursday afternoon.

Lombardo, sheriff of Clark County in Nevada, is running in the race for state governor against incumbent Democratic Governor Steve Sisolak. Lombardo won the Republican primary in June, beating fellow GOP candidate Joey Gilbert by about 11 percentage points, 38.4% to 27.6%.

FiveThirtyEight, which provides polling averages that take into account quality, sample size, recency and any partisan leanings, found Sisolak leading Lombardo by 2.1 percentage points as of June 15.

Laxalt is running hoping to unseat Democratic Senator Catherine Cortez Masto. He won his GOP primary in June with more than 50% of the vote, while Cortez Masto won the Democratic primary by a wide margin with about 90% support.

A June 24-27 poll by Future Majority found Cortez Masto leading Laxalt by three percentage points, 46% to 43%.

Lombardo and Laxalt both received coveted endorsements from Trump.

“As governor, Joe will fiercely protect our Second Amendment under siege, oppose sanctuary cities, support our law enforcement, veto any Liberal tax increases, protect lives, and secure our elections,” wrote Trump in his endorsement for Lombardo.

In his endorsement of Laxalt, Trump described the candidate as a supporter of law enforcement and someone who has “valiantly fought” against voter fraud.

“He’s strong on Secure Borders and standing up for America against the radical left,” Trump’s statement read. “Adam has my complete and total approval!”

The day after his speech in Las Vegas, Trump will travel to Anchorage, Alaska, for a rally in support of several Republicans: US House candidate Sarah Palin, US Senate candidate Kelly Tshibaka and Governor of Alaska Mike Dunleavy.
