The Conjuring & 8 Best Netflix Movies To Watch On Friday The 13th

Another Friday the 13th is approaching and we’re getting into the spooky mood by compiling a list of spooky movies perfectly suited to this superstitious day.

Classic slasher movies like Friday 13 and Nightmare on Elm Street to more recent paranormal hits like Conspiracy and Ouija board: the origin of evilthere are plenty of scary movies streaming on Netflix that will make the perfect movie binge for this weekend.

The best Netflix movies to watch on Friday the 13th

Halloween is still several months away, but Friday the 13th still feels like a special, extra Halloween day to me. I can’t help but get in the horror mood when that day comes around and it only happens once in a while, so enjoy it and plan a spooky movie marathon!

Friday the 13th (2009)

Obviously, the best movie you can watch that day is a movie based on the day. Unfortunately, the 1980 film is not streaming on the platform, but you can watch the 2009 remake starring Danielle Panabaker, Jared Padalecki, Amanda Righetti, Travis Van Winkle, Aaron Yoo, and Derek Mears.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022)

If you haven’t had a chance to watch the last entry in the Chainsaw Massacre franchise when it hit Netflix earlier this year, now is the time to check out the chainsaw-wielding madman that is Leatherface. Netflix also has several additional movies in the streaming franchise, including the 2003 remake starring Jessica Biel, 3D Texas Chainsaw and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning.

Halloween (2007)

Normally I would never recommend this movie because I’m not a huge Rob Zombie fan, but it’s the only movie in the Halloween franchise currently streaming on Netflix. It’s not terrible and some people even like this version more than the original, so if you’re interested in watching movies to get you in a spooky mood, this is a great choice.

Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)

Jason, Michael and Leatherface all have at least one movie currently on Netflix, so of course Freddy has to join in the fun too! the original Nightmare on Elm Street (and the 2010 remake) are both available. Freddy versus Jason is also streaming.

The Ring (2002)

When it comes to creepy, unexplained superstitions and urban legends, the ring is one of the best examples. If someone gave you a videotape and told you it contained a curse that would kill you in seven days? Would you believe it? A remake of the Japanese film Ring, the ring is a horror classic.

It Follows (2014)

Another movie that will make you uncomfortable, It follows is a great horror movie about a supernatural sex-transmitted entity, following every person in the chain and viciously murdering them. After watching, you’ll find yourself staring sideways at everyone you see slowly walking towards you!

Ouija board: the origin of evil (2016)

Mike Flanagan fans shouldn’t miss this chilling and underrated horror film. When a woman introduces a Ouija board into her family’s sitting business, she brings something dark and malevolent into their home. Elizabeth Reaser, Lin Shaye, Lulu Wilson, Annalize Basso and Henry Thomas star.

The Conjuring (2013)

Netflix has some movies from Conspiracy franchise available, including the original 2013 film, the sequel and one of the spin-offs, Annabelle: Creation. Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga play Ed and Lorraine Warren, who were real demonologists and paranormal investigators.

What movies are you planning to watch this Friday the 13th?
