Following the success of 2019 Uncut Gems, Adam Sandler and the Safdie brothers have spoken openly about working together again. Now the trio will get that chance, as it’s reported that filming for the film will begin in the second quarter of 2023, which will likely make it Sandler’s next big movie.
Not much is known about the movie, but Deadline noted that “it’s likely set in the world of high-end card collecting,” which could make for another chaotic high-stakes movie similar to Uncut Gems.
The trio first got together in 2019 Uncut Gemsa critically acclaimed film thanks in part to Sandler’s performance. Uncut Gems won Sandler much acclaim for his intense and more dramatic performance, with the actor winning the Film Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead.

Since leaving, Sandler has been open about working with the Safdie brothers again. When drawing Hustle, Sandler said he would star in the next film, saying earlier this year, “Their work ethic is bananas. They are still working, still writing, still thinking. I don’t know what I can tell you, but it’s going to be very exciting. It’s different. But I don’t want them ever to say, ‘Why the hell did you tell him that?’ So I’ll just let them talk [about it].”
