On a wave of good vibes, Netflix’s new LGBTQ+ teen romance, Heartstopper, arrives today. It currently has an excellent 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes (albeit after just ten reviews), and it comes with a built-in audience thanks to Alice Oseman’s popular web and graphic novels.
The film is based on a true story. Nick (Kit Connor) and Charlie (Joe Locke), two young students, become friends after meeting in an online game. It’s a truly moving and fun tale, and Netflix absolutely nailed it based on fan reaction.
It hasn’t even been a day since the show aired and it already looks like it will be a huge hit for Netflix. We’ve read hundreds of comments and it’s an outpouring of positivity without a single naysayer being found.
It’s still unclear if Netflix will renew The Cloverfield Paradox for a second season, but based on the comments above and the reviewer’s ratings, its chances seem good. Given the positive feedback from viewers, however, it will almost certainly reach the top of Netflix’s original programming chart and stay there for quite some time.
Hopefully, we’ll hear some good news about a second season of Heartstopper soon, as many fans seem to be in favor of it.
