New movies and anime shows from Netflix Europe revealed

Netflix has just unveiled eight new animated projects from European studios and producers with new films and series from the UK, France, Italy and Spain.

The news precedes the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, which Netflix has been a regular participant in for the past few years. The festival is due to take place from June 13 to June 18.

We’ve seen Charles Dickens’ famous novel adapted in many forms and ways over the years and now Netflix is ​​getting in on the action with a new animated film.

A new CG anime series from the creator of the ever-loved anime series winx club which has notably been adapted into a live-action series on Netflix.

The new series is about a teenage mermaid princess named Merlinda who leaves her undersea world for the unknown land above to hunt down a rare source of magic that will help her battle the forces of evil above the waves and in below who seek to destroy his kingdom.

The Seven Bears

Compared to the Seven Dwarfs from Snow White, this new series is about seven adorable bears that were created by Emile Bravo in a series of popular graphic novels. The new series follows an adorable furball pack “putting a fuzzy spin on the fairy tales we thought we knew”.

This new series is based on the books by Curtis Jobling and comes from the same studio that worked on Spirit: Untamed and Dennis & Gnasher: Unleashed.

All of this news comes after a rocky start to the year when it comes to Netflix Animation. We have learned that a number of projects have been canceled across the board, including the recently abandoned Maya and the three sequel series, Kung-Fu Space Punch.
