From the revival of Beavis and Butt-Head to Big Nate, here’s a list of TV series coming to Paramount+ in August 2022.
While regular television threatens to go the way of the dinosaur, the new way to view content is through streaming services. Without annoying ads or time slots, streaming services allow viewers to watch as much as they want, when they want, as all content is available 24/7 for a monthly or annual fee. Over the years, many streaming services have sprung up, with the original believed to be Netflix, while many others have followed, including Amazon Prime Video and Disney+. Among the many streaming services, one that is relatively new to the market is Paramount+.
Paramount+ is home to many popular movies and TV series, including the entire Donkey franchise as well as popular shows like ITUC and South Park. While there’s quite a bit of content to choose from on Paramout+, there’s always room for new additions, and considering all the other streaming services out there, Paramout+ has to do its best to weed out the competition. Whether it’s just adding another popular show to the streaming roster or creating its own unique shows to stand out, Paramount+ is doing its best to step up its game. Beavis and Butt-Head – August 4
Beavis and Butthead is a classic adult comedy with a huge cult following. Mike Judge’s raunchy animated series ran for a total of seven seasons on MTV from 1993 to 1997. The show’s iconic main characters have enjoyed a resurgence in popularity since the release of the second Beavis and Butthead feature film Beavis and Butt-Head make the universe, released exclusively on Paramount+ in June 2022. Since the release of the film and the generally positive reviews of the new film, Paramount+ has made the wise decision to reboot the classic TV show on the list. The new revival of Beavis and Butthead is set to release on Paramount+ on August 4.
Star Trek: Lower Decks – August 25
Star Trek: Lower Decks is an anime star trek spin-off that focuses on the crew of the USS Cerritos, one of Starfleet’s lesser ships. The show premiered in 2020 and received mixed reviews for its modern take on the classic StarTrek. Despite this, the show was nominated for a number of awards, including a Primetime Emmy nomination. The cast includes stars like Tawny Newsome, Jack Quaid and Eugene Cordero. The series has a total of two seasons so far and the third season is set to release on Paramount+ on August 25, 2022. In January 2022, by Colliderit was confirmed that Star Trek: Lower Decks is due for renewal for a fourth season, slated for release in 2023.
Big Nate – August 30
Fat Nate is a Paramount+ original series that revolves around 11-year-old Nate and his friends as they navigate sixth grade. Based on the comic and book series of the same name, Fat Nate is a moderately successful CG anime series on the streaming service. The show premiered on Paramount+ in February 2022 to some acclaim for its unique CG style and approach to teaching kids in a modern yet understandable way. In fact, it currently sits at a 94% audience score on rotten tomatoes. New episodes of the CG anime series are set to release on August 30, 2022.
